Stanley Rodillians RUFC travelled to Old Otlensians to play there 2nd /vets side.
The Otlensians playing their first game for a number of seasons. The Rods hampered by injuries and unavailability travelled short but were bolstered by lads from Bradford Salem.
Otlensians started strongly and while the Rods were getting used to playing different systems Otlensians scored 3 converted tries. The Rods improved and with some strong running Ant Dorling crossed the line with James Hollingworth converting.
The 2nd half started well with captain Tom Stafford running hard and Glen Bakewell making some cracking tackles. A few injuries took there toll and a few players where swapped to keep the numbers even Otliensians scored 3 more tries.
The Rods never gave up with Pete Burrows and James Little putting in a shift in the front row. Chris Walker lead the backs from 10, keeping the pressure on Otlensians which eventually told as they got tired with Rich Robinson driving over James Hollingworth taking the 2 points. 38 - 14
The game was played in great spirit with over 30 lads playing a game.
