It is with deep regret and complete shock that we have been advised that on 28 June 2018 Dave Calline has unfortunately passed away. We don’t know the details of the situation just that it was totally unexpected.

Whilst from a rugby perspective Dave had to follow in the shadow of his elder brother he was very much his own man with a dry wit and very personable demeanour. We doubt whether he ever had a bad word to say about anyone (except perhaps the South African authorities). Dave had a very close attachment and commitment to the club for several decades, played his rugby in the lower teams and had many close friends at the club and beyond and he will be sorely missed.

A number of you will not have known Dave personally but he is one of those people who continued to be an active participant in the club over many years both financially and socially,

Our sincere condolences go out to Dave’s family and friends.

We don’t yet have details of the funeral but these will be circulated as soon as we know.
